EDUARDO AGUIRRE

1959-2023

Eduardo Aguirre lived life to the fullest. He loved riding his handcycle along the Loop, meeting new people, and introducing them to the joys of cycling. In his honor, the Eduardo Aguirre Adaptive Cycling Center provides access to a large collection of adaptive bikes including handcycles, recumbent trikes, and side-by-side tandem. The Center serves youth and adults with physical disabilities and visual impairments, as well as their family and friends.
The Center is located near a quiet bike path in the Sam Lena Recreation Area which connects to the Chuck Huckleberry Loop, a 150-mile system of paved bike paths connecting the Cañada del Oro, Rillito, Santa Cruz, and Pantano River Parks with the Julian Wash and Harrison Road Greenway.
